Coming from humble beginnings, Mr. Fatih Selim Cangoz grew up in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area and earned a bachelor's degree in International Politics from Penn State University, with a Minor in Arabic. He later moved to his birth state of New Jersey and attended law school in Brooklyn, New York.

 

Since graduating from Brooklyn Law School in 2019, Mr. Cangoz has embodied the spirit of 'Brooklyn Tough.' Immediately after law school, he worked with the Administration of Children Services in Brooklyn, New York, where he prosecuted neglectful and abusive parents to protect children. He has since worked with several law firms, honing his negotiation, courtroom, and trial skills across a wide range of legal areas.

Cangoz Law LLC has been a general practice law firm since 2021, with a particular focus on general litigation. As President Abraham Lincoln once said, "Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbor to compromise whenever you can." At Cangoz Law LLC, we hold this principle as a cornerstone of our practice. Mr. Cangoz has proven himself to be a skilled negotiator, successfully resolving commercial disputes, real estate transactions, and obtaining favorable plea deals with various prosecutors' offices.

 

However, if settlement becomes impossible, Mr. Cangoz has demonstrated his prowess in the courtroom, utilizing his advanced knowledge of the rules of evidence. Mr. Cangoz studied under one of the greatest lawyers in the U.S., Professor Alex Stein, who now sits on the Supreme Court of Israel. Mr. Cangoz has successfully litigated several trials, ranging from commercial litigation, criminal defense, domestic violence, to removal/deportation proceedings. He also has extensive experience in appellate litigation and is known among his peers as an advanced legal writer.

Mr. Cangoz is currently licensed to practice law in the State of New York, the State of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.​
